One Prague neighbourhood can accommodate a business meeting, a relaxed lunch and an after-work conversation. The useful choice is not the most fashionable address; it is the place that fits the purpose and privacy of each conversation.

Karlín is a practical base for a working day in Prague. Its offices, former industrial buildings, cafés and restaurants sit close enough together that a visitor can move between different kinds of meetings without crossing the city. That convenience matters when the schedule is tight and the people you are meeting need different settings.

The three places below serve different purposes. WorkLounge Karlín offers bookable meeting rooms. Eska Karlín works for an informal breakfast or lunch. Dva Kohouti is a lively brewery and taproom for a drink after the formal part of the day. They are not interchangeable—and that is what makes them useful together.

For the meeting that needs a door: WorkLounge Karlín

A distributor discussion, technical presentation or conversation about commercial terms often needs more than a café table. At Pernerova 51 in Forum Karlín, WorkLounge offers meeting rooms that can be booked by the hour, alongside coworking space and day access. Its published room options include spaces for small groups, with presentation equipment and a whiteboard.

Choose a room when participants need to review documents, connect a remote colleague, show a product or speak without the surrounding noise of a public venue. Confirm the specific room, equipment, guest access and price when you book; a general description of the location is not a guarantee that the right room is free at your preferred time. WorkLounge lists weekday reception hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Karlín location.

The address is also useful for the day's flow: Eska is nearby at Pernerova 49 on the same street. A working breakfast or lunch can follow a meeting without building a complicated transfer into the schedule.

For an informal meal: Eska Karlín

Eska is a bakery, kitchen and shop at Pernerova 49. The ground-floor bakery serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, with bread and other baked goods central to the experience. Its setting offers a visitor something recognisably local without requiring a formal restaurant lunch.

It fits a first meeting with a contact you already know a little, a conversation that benefits from a less formal tone or a meal between appointments. It is a bustling bakery, however. Eska says it does not accept reservations for the bakery, so allow some flexibility around busy periods. Do not choose it for a confidential negotiation or a discussion that depends on hearing every technical detail.

If the meal itself is important to a visiting partner, check the current menu and opening hours before suggesting a time. As of 2 October 2026, Eska's official page lists weekday opening from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The offering and hours can change.

For the conversation after work: Dva Kohouti

When the formal agenda is over, Dva Kohouti offers a different kind of setting. The brewery and taproom at Sokolovská 81/55 serves beer brewed on site and has a lively, social atmosphere. For a partner who enjoys Czech beer, it can be a natural place to continue talking without another presentation or meeting-room booking.

That informality has limits. The venue describes itself as busy and says it does not take reservations. It is a taproom, not a dependable choice for a full business dinner or a quiet final negotiation. Confirm food arrangements elsewhere if your guests expect dinner. Its official page currently lists opening from 3 p.m. on weekdays.

Alcohol should also remain optional. A business visitor may prefer to end the day after lunch, or simply choose a non-alcoholic drink. The point is to offer a relaxed continuation when it suits the people involved, not to make beer part of the business plan.

Match the place to the purpose

What the day needsA suitable Karlín choiceWhat to plan around
A private discussion, presentation or hybrid callWorkLounge KarlínBook the exact room and confirm equipment and guest access
Breakfast or a quick informal lunchEska KarlínNo bakery reservations; allow for a lively room and possible waiting
A casual drink after meetingsDva KohoutiNo reservations; expect a busy taproom and arrange dinner separately

This is a suggested sequence, not a timetable to force on every visitor. A good working day might start with a booked room, move to Eska for lunch and finish at Dva Kohouti only if the relationship and the schedule make it appropriate. If you need privacy throughout, keep the important conversation in the meeting room and treat the other stops as social time.

The main conclusion

Karlín makes it possible to spend a business day in one part of Prague while changing the tone as the work changes. Reserve a room for decisions that require focus. Use Eska when an informal meal helps the conversation. Choose Dva Kohouti for an optional, lively end to the day. Check each venue's current hours, booking rules and availability before inviting a guest.
