Packaging obligations in Czechia
If your company sells packaged goods directly to Czech end users from abroad, it is the producer for those deliveries and must address Czech packaging EPR. Kodo is registered with EKO-KOM as an authorised representative. Under a producer-specific written appointment, Kodo acts as your Czech representative, organises packaging data and manages the recurring reporting process.

Start with the sales model
A foreign e-shop selling packaged products directly to Czech consumers or business end users is the producer for those deliveries. For a producer established in another EU country, PPWR also requires a written appointment of a Czech authorised EPR representative.
If a Czech distributor buys and resells the goods, the answer depends on the actual sales and packaging flows. We check those facts before proposing a registration path. A marketplace or warehouse alone does not transfer the producer's duties.
Clear annual pricing
The standard price applies to a typical small foreign e-shop and one legal entity. We confirm the final price after reviewing the scope and available data. The EKO-KOM system fee and packaging charges remain separate payments.

Paid in advance. Standard scope for one producer or legal entity, including agreed onboarding, representation, source-data checks, packaging calculations and quarterly reporting for a typical small e-shop with clear, complete records. The final price is confirmed after a short review.

This is an external EKO-KOM system fee, not Kodo's service fee. The fee covers a calendar year, rather than 12 months from registration. The current tariff may change.

Kodo prepares an annual estimate and advance payment. Actual packaging placed on the Czech market is reported quarterly and then reconciled.

The number of products, kilograms or marketplaces alone does not mean an automatic surcharge. We assess actual packaging variants, usable data and the work required. What does EUR 250 include?
The portal, instructions, document flow and recurring reporting steps are available for sharing and reviewing your records. Our spreadsheet is a way to hand over packaging and Czech delivery data; Kodo calculates the reportable quantities within the agreed scope. You do not have to calculate the final report yourself. You can also provide an agreed export or other usable source records. Establishing missing weights, physical weighing and substantial manual reconstruction are quoted in advance when needed. A direct connection to an e-shop, accounting platform, ERP or API can also be scoped and priced separately.
All amounts shown are excluding VAT unless stated otherwise.
Reverse charge may apply to Kodo's service with a valid EU VAT number.
The producer must provide complete source data within the agreed deadlines.
Partner arrangements and pricing are agreed individually.

Clear responsibilities
After a written appointment and the applicable onboarding, Kodo acts as the Czech authorised EPR representative. The producer sends source data to Kodo; we check it, calculate the packaging figures, submit the quarterly report and handle EKO-KOM correspondence and invoices under the agreed arrangement.
The producer supplies and confirms complete, accurate packaging and sales data. Representation brings responsibilities for both parties; specialist legal or product advice is arranged separately where needed.
Packaging EPR does not replace product-safety, customs, VAT, battery, electrical equipment, chemical or other sector-specific requirements.
Current regulatory framework
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 generally applies from 12 August 2026. It introduces EU-wide packaging requirements alongside producer registration and extended producer responsibility. The exact duties still depend on the sales chain, national implementation and the company's role.
