A product can have potential in the Czech market before its manufacturer knows which companies to approach. The first task is to turn that possibility into a specific commercial question.

Who could use the product? What do they use today? Why might they consider a different supplier? What information would they need before discussing an order or a project?

These are the questions Kodo uses to explore business opportunities in the Czech Republic with international manufacturers.

Look for an application, then a customer

The description “industrial equipment” is too broad to guide a useful search. The application gives the research a direction.

Consider an illustrative manufacturer of conveyor systems. Its possible customers might differ according to the materials handled, operating conditions, production layout and integration requirements. A solution prepared for packaged goods may need a different conversation from equipment used in another industrial process.

This is an example of how we would frame research, not a report of a completed Kodo project.

The starting brief should identify the applications the manufacturer can support and the projects it wants to pursue. That lets us investigate companies whose operations could be relevant.

Compare the alternatives customers already have

Market research should help explain the buyer's existing choices. That may include established suppliers, distributors, different technical approaches or the option of keeping current equipment.

Publicly available pricing can provide context, but it needs careful comparison. Two offers may differ in capacity, configuration, installation, service or delivery terms. Where a comparable price is unavailable, the research should state the gap rather than present an invented estimate.

A Czech market research assignment can examine competitors, potential customer groups and sales channels around the actual product.

Give the first test a clear purpose

A first market test should produce information that helps you make the next decision. For example:

  • identify a relevant group of potential industrial customers;
  • assess whether distribution is a plausible route;
  • learn which product information buyers ask for;
  • test interest through an agreed programme of company outreach;
  • understand what needs to change in the presentation or offer.

The test does not have to cover every sector or every country. A narrower assignment makes it easier to interpret responses and decide where to continue.

Prepare for the conversation after the introduction

If a company responds, the next question may be technical rather than promotional. It could concern an application, compatibility, project requirements or the information needed for a quotation.

Kodo can help coordinate that communication, adapt sales materials and prepare meetings or proposals within an agreed scope. A local landing page can also give prospective buyers a clear place to understand the offer and contact you.

Explore Czechia first, then decide on wider markets

The Czech Republic remains our main focus. Selected markets in Central Europe and the Balkans can form part of a wider assignment, with the countries and work agreed in advance.

Send Kodo your product information and describe the market you want to test. We will prepare a non-binding proposal outlining a useful first scope of research or customer and partner development.
