How much might Czech packaging EPR cost if your e-shop starts shipping to Czech customers? We have added a simple Czech e-commerce packaging cost calculator to help you make a first budget before your full packaging review.

Three inputs to start

Enter your expected number of parcels delivered to Czechia in a year, the average grams of paper or cardboard shipping material you add to each parcel, and the average grams of primary plastic shipping material you add. Use 0 for a material you do not use. Enter packaging weight, not product weight.

The calculator applies selected rates from the EKO-KOM tariff effective from 1 January 2026. It shows an estimated annual material-based charge, the annual EKO-KOM agreement fee and a combined total in Czech crowns excluding VAT. The fee lines are visible, so you can see how the estimate was formed.

As an illustration, if you expect 1,000 Czech parcels and add 200 g of cardboard and 20 g of primary plastic to each, the tool calculates 200 kg of cardboard and 20 kg of plastic for the year. You can change any input to see how a different parcel volume or packaging design affects the estimate.

What the estimate does and does not cover

The model assumes one-use grouped or transport packaging without beverages, chargeable to your business under an EKO-KOM agreement. It is a starting point for typical e-commerce shipping materials.

It does not calculate retail or product packaging, other materials, recycled-plastic rates, littering charges, VAT or Kodo's service fee. It also cannot decide who is legally responsible for a particular pack. A product box, mixed material or packaging already accounted for by another party needs a separate review. The published EKO-KOM tariff can change, so check the current version when making a commercial decision.

For that reason, the calculator's result is an indicative budget, not an invoice or a registration decision. Quarterly EKO-KOM reports use the packaging actually supplied to Czechia after each quarter, while the calculator uses your expected annual parcels. Our packaging data and reporting guide shows what records are needed for the real report.

Turn a first estimate into a workable process

Use the calculator to test a few realistic order and packaging scenarios. Then collect a sample parcel, your packaging weights and a short description of how you sell into Czechia. We can help identify which packs belong in your Czech EPR records, review the estimate against the full Czech packaging obligations and set up a clear route for onboarding and reporting.

Kodo's role is to make the process easier to understand and manage: one practical data request, a visible calculation and clear next steps for the client and its partners. If you would like us to check your result, contact Kodo.
